i heard a carpet cleaner locally got all his gear nicked out of a new ford transit van, how easy are new vans to break into? i thought they would be hard to get into side or back doors? i suppose if you have an alarm you would be safer? ???

If they want your gear they will get it no matter what van you have. My brother pulled up outside wickes in his new scudo fully alarmed with a key fob buzzer than warns him when alarm goes off. He was in the queue to pay and his buzzer goes off, £3000 worth off Dewalt tools gone, all he seen was them driving away, CCTV not on surprise surprise, back door and side door locks all on the floor :'(

i think you need to chain your gear down too to prolong the theft. mind you i heard one guy catching the thieves in action but then he had a gun pulled on him until they took the lot out then the drove off so he could do nothing but watch. :o :o :o

The new transit is very easy to get into all you have to do run a saw down the side of the door which shorts out the system and unlocks the doors
If anyone has one you need to fit stand alone locks or shied the wiring
