Hello, I work for a television production company - we are currently making a new series for CiTV.
I have been speaking to Terry Burrows, who suggested I post on this site for a little advice for one of our programmes.
In each programme our two presenters dare each other to face their different phobia's, they have to do various challenges throughout the show, to see if they can combat their fear.
One of the episodes is all about heights - and we are arranging for our presenter to window clean at some very tall buildings around London -
I wanted to chat to some people in the know about great locations where they might allow filming, and they might need some windows cleaned in July!
Our presenter only finds out on the day where he is going and what he is doing, and so it 's important to us that he won't need much training.
If you've any thoughts or experience about window cleaning at great heights I would love to hear your thoughts!

What about canery whaf (I dont know how to spell it) you know docklands. There is a window cleaning company dedicated to just that job. It has been shown many years ago on blue peter as I think its as high as any window cleaner goes.
You would have to get in contact with the maintenance side of the building.

Further to Justin's posting, if you mean in a cradle or similar, then there's some quite strict legislation about tall buildings and being outside them.

Take him to Kuala Lumpur, I think that Petrona Towers still holds the record. No H&S there, well not from what I saw, just bamboo scaffolding:-

tv guy: try putting a rope around the presenters neck and telling him to jump,you will get the same effect as putting a guy out on a cradle or absailing,these are trained guys.
If you r thinking what Im thinking,Ive a line up of presenters I would put forward to you starting with Keith Chegwin ;D [joke] good luck with your venture but please show us in good light,as H/S is paramount.

That bamboo scafolding gets eaten slowly by a small worm or bug and ends up full of holes and then collapses.

Well you could try strapping him to a wing of a 747 and get him to clean the windows in flight. Seriously though, before you make a decision, remember what happened with Noel Edmonds' show many years ago. I'm sure you wouldn't want something similar to happen.

How about the reporter having to do a straight-forward days work on a load of boring old houses?
A challenge maybe, but probably not exciting telly!

Personally, I think using a picture of a fellow human being depicted suffering extreme stress is not a clever thing to do. In fact it disgusts me.
Why use an avatar of someone whose obviously displaying signs of huge torment on a window cleaning forum? Is it to extract the urine out of those people unfortunate enough to lead short and brutal lives?
Why hasn't it been reported to the moderators either?
I have complained to admin about it.
