well this week i gonna i am gonna do my canvasing for my start of i hope something big, given time, wish me luck ....i will keep you post thru out the week.
i gonna dress smart....clothes say what you are.!

oh its my launch to be a window cleaner

dont do the shirt and tie route. People will think your selling double glazing. I used to go out in a plain t-shirt, jeans and smart footwear.

yeah, definitely agree, don't go out in a shirt etc, people will think you're a jehovah!!

Where did I say there was anything wrong with it?
If you want to pick a fight over a keyboard, find someone else, however, if you were just having a laugh, cool. You don't come across as a keyboard warrior, and have helped me out recently...so hope it's the latter.

I always wore the uniform and intoduced myself platered in the company name - Letterheads - Clipboard etc. Just said that our workers wear this unifomr so if they couldnt make there mind up there and then id tell them to look out for our cleaners when they were about then they got a good introduction and an idea of what to expect from us if they decided to employ our services

Funnily enough my son's canvasser has just changed from (smart) T shirt and jeans to shirt, tie, trousers and smart shoes, and his hit rate has soared!
He is canvassing a well to do area, and perhaps that is why?
maybe the attire of the canvasser shoudl reflect the area he is canvassing in?
Or it may just be coincedence of course, time will tell.
Just a thought.....

I agree, I reckon ironed short sleeve shirt, chinos, and shiny shoes myself, for the better areas.
I think a tie is a little over the top personally, although my son's canvasser is doing very well wearing one, with trousers and shoes, but no jacket.

small tip if your going to start canvassing for custys from scratch. try getting 3 or 4 calls in one area to get a foothold, then move to a different area and do the same for the following day that way word of mouth works after your first clean, carry on doing that untill you have all your days filled. hope this helps best of luck and get used to lots of first cleans ;)

be smart and cheerful, sell yourself first and foremost, after all if you look grumpy and not so pleasant, and quite scruffy...
well ... would you, yourself take any kind of service from that kind of guy??
Tell them you are currently working in this area, and wondered if you require a window cleaner?
if the answer is " no thanks we already have one"

yeah first cleans witch take ages but worth it in the long run and next time u do it it will take 5 minits all good fun ;D
