does anyone listen to their own compilations whilst cleaning? or is it the radio?...if so, what do you listen to?
i prefer a mix, according to my mood...if im tired something fast and loud gets me going..
i like a bit of smoky robinson on a chilled friday like today, but i was working in an empty flat and blasted ACDCs - BACK IN BLACK whilst wearing my blue pants and blue overshoes...lol..what a day!
regards barry

back in black tour, i was there, climb on.
don't listen to music on the job, too busy. ;D

But you can't hear a radio when it's all kicking off with the vacuum, duo, air mover and everything else!!!! I would love to wear my iPod along with my trainers, hoody and jeans which are hanging so far down that they reveal my colourful apple catchers, but I fear the custy would be somewhat bemused ;D ;D ;D
-
Wouldn't dream of having music blasting from speakers whilst on the job.
Couldn't cope with an iPod or similar as it's difficult enough to hear my phone ringing even with Bluetooth.
Apart from anything else there is enough equipment to turn off when the phone rings apart from adding music to turn off. And I'm in a bad enough mood when having stopped work and turned everything off to ensure silence i find it's telesales or worse a power dialler with nobody there.
But I think I'm a "grumpy old man" when in the ambulance between jobs it's Radio 2 all the way: Wogan, The Bruce, Vine, The Big Show, Chris Evans. My only regret is I never get to hear a discussion on a topic to fruition on the Jeremy Vine Show. I really like the "Non-stop Oldies" with Steve Wright. (Pity I can't stand Steve Wright himself.)
Oh and occasionally I'll listen to tapes (tapes?!?) of "I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again" with Angus Prune!!

Jeremy Vine Dumbed down when he left Newsnight. And he rings his Dad whilst on air when he should be focusing on his job LOL
My van is a University.
All I need now is the alcohol, the weed and the lasses. :D

I use a Nokia N78 which takes a micro sd card (8 gig) load music, plays etc on that. Great thing is it came with a thing that plugs into the headphone socket to which I can fit standard headphones, for hands free use. I like in ear type. Listen to it all day and when there's a call it cuts the music if it's set to auto answer. No messing about and never miss a call. Some might frown but I use some quality ear defenders ;D
AC/DC have not missed a tour since '79 MAJOR fan :o However one should try cleaning to Motorhead :D :D
-
Black ice tour :)
Dont think we will see them again :(
-
Ahh a Motorhead fan, i remember seeing them at the Malvern Winter Gardens i think it was 79, and been a fan eversince . Carpet cleaning and heavy rock two of my favourite things !! ;D
-
I sometimes listen to motorhead/dc/maiden etc...
if anyones familiar with the song "Rock out" from Motorhead then listen to it when cleaning (especially stairs).
I guarantee you'll be finished in half the time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually popped the iPod on today and set about tidying my house having got rid of our vistors..... 6 hours later I was still going strong, the house is mint and now I'm in the wife's good books.... ;)

Are we all 40 ish and victims of the NWOBHM :D :D I have a massive collection of stuff from the era, AC/DC a particular fan, you need powerage, let there be rock, highway to hell, back in black, for those about to rock and flick of the switch. Great albums. Black Ice is right up there too. Saxon and Motorhead are still turning out some solid efforts too. Kids got me Dad Rocks for fathers day ;D Still catch many bands live Motorhead can still cut the mustard and are bloody loud, they are touring this November not to be missed.
Think you're right Clinton, that was the last one :'(

What is it with carpet cleaners and heavy metal.
Must have fried your brains in your misspent youth and now all you can do is push a wand all day. ;D
As a northern soulie I listen to quality music from the golden era of Detroit in the 60`s
Get some soul on your ipod and you will never look back ;)

-
24ct Purple, one of my all time favourit albums :D
-
the problem with me is, allthough i loved all these bands when they were around and i don't mind the odd reminisce, i'm more into the latest music and always have been, i kinda move with the times, all though it does take me a bit longer to get into them. if i worked with an ipod on now i'd have to listen to the likes of the black eyed peas / calvin harris / tynchy and dappy etc...

I’ve always liked abba get up and go Beatles dump them when I got strawberry rash ok scrumping ;D
Len

Oh you poor souls,
Led Zepp for me thanks, there's plenty in that back catologue to either chill along to or turn upto 120 mph for those manic moments.
If I'm running late with a 20 mile drive then Deep Purple or AC/DC gets me there quicker ;D
-
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh yes Abba. When I was 12 I thought I was in love with the blond one and when she sang "winner takes it all" in the video I dreamed about whisking her off to a new life away from all the torment she seemed to be going through. :-\
Now I'm just an ageing rocker but I do still have a soft spot for the swedish wonders.
