Not me anymore, just asked my wife and son to pop out for a few hours and they picked up 10 quotes. They both can't wait to go out again..lol. I've been missing this opportunity for toooo long. I'm willing to pay them a rate as I would have with any canvassers, so everyone wins ;D ;D...lol
-
Pay them well, keep it in the family......a good idea... ;)

I am going out all this week, 6-8 me thinks.
Problem being I drive somewhere and then avoid knocking not liking the houses, such a stupid thing to be doing at the moment, Im really not in a position to be picky but I find that I am. So I am adamant, to get 5 - 10 monthly customers this week.
-
they just got in...lol Got 17 definite quotes and 6 took a business card..............can't wait till tomorrow. Keep it in the family seems to be the way to go...lol
-
May I ask what your wife said on the door? I have been thinking of taking my partner out with me, but was wondering how the potential customers would be on the door with them. Like it not actually being the cleaner speaking to them.
-
Krave, it seems to be working for fieldsy, If it was a problem then canvassing teams wouldn't be able to do it.I used to think custies wouldn't want a female WC but my wife has disproved that, when they come out the frfont door they approach her rather than me. This could be because I have a rare foot desease and nasty unpolished plywood teeth and look like Gonzo on a bad day :o

Basically, she has just been saying, sorry to trouble you, but would you be interested in a window cleaning service, my husband is currently working in the area and would like to give you a quote if you are interested. Its a family run business, reliable and local. If you'd like to think about it, would you like to take a card...............................and voila!!! we have 17 quotes and 6 maybes in about 5 hours.
Just wish I had thought of it bloody earlier, paying both my son and wife a return they are happy with, and money stays in the family.................and its given them the incentive to go out and get some more. My son is working part time in a butchers for a paltry wage whilst waiting to go to college......so when I told him how much he could possibly get by canvassing assuming I get the work, he's eyes lit up...lol

Thats really good, you should teach them to quote now, that way you get them signed up there and then.
-
thats not a bad idea ;) killing two birds with one stone ;D
-
definitely get them quoting mate, its in their interest to get a good price and its easier to do that there and then while they are saying yes and in the right mood :)

Hey Fieldsy
Hope they were all in and around York Road Southend
and not on my patch :-)

My wife went knocking for me and got the same responce you did. People take to women better on the door.
I gave my wife a guide to giving out quotes. Had a couple that she underpriced, but she soon picked it up.
I would suggest you take her with you on a couple of quotes and show her the ropes. That way she will be able to price up the way you would.
I haven't paid my wife, just it means we have more spending money.
I confirm all my jobs the night before via txt or a call. People seem to like the fact that they not only speak to me but my wife too as she confirms them most nights.
-
Thanks for that windowwipers, good info ;)
@Russ
who?, what? where?, which patch???...lol
Don't think you have to worry about lil 'ole me at the moment...lol..............................................I did say at the moment ;)
Have kicked most of that back into the streets where they belong, wasn't worth the agg ::)
By the way, got your beers here, will pop them round when I get a chance ;)

Someone has aksed me to quote for a 3 storey town house in an exclusive area of London.
They may want internal, not sure until I go.
Anyone here do central London and care to comment on the correct sort of price for a property such as this is a well to do area?
I think £60, but don't want to overprice.
-
the correct price will be:
how long it takes you = what you want to earn + mr browns payment and hey presto you have your price!
:D
-
That wasn't really the answer I am looking for!
I want to price the job correctly for the property type and area, and therefore wondered if anyone here cleans simlar type properties in London, and had a ballpark figure.
basically I don't want to over price it and lose it, as I know there are more houses there, so want to get it right first time.
-
ok, shall i show you my round and all my prices? what about my accounts to would they do??
it may only be a price for a house but why anyone would share that info on a public forum or to anyone is beyond me???
