I am looking to find a course on repairing leather but I dont want to travel to far. So Gateshead - NE post code is too far its over 5 hours drive.
I want a course on how to restore not just clean leather.
Does anyone know where there is one much closer.

Well, there the 2 best for training and product supply.
We've all been thro this dilema of distance but you dont really want to compromise on training do you?
Guys have flown in from Ireland to get to NCCA courses at Leicester, whats a few hour.

Few hours is time and money!
If I am away from what I am doing I have to pay someone else to cover my work.
So it can work out expensive, cost in going, staying over, Cover and other expensise.
Yes you are right, I dont want to comprimise on training. Mybe I look at doing a cleather course at a much later date. Shame.
I undertand that some people (alot) will think I am stupid just because I hate the long distance but thats me!

What you need is to find some pictures of the repairing procedure using the latest product system from forums - that will save all your travelling time and expenses.
Then you Practice! Practice! And more Practice!
Then Post you practices for further guidance if need to.
What do you think?

As for leather course I recommend you take the IICRC (LCT) from LTT.
When certified, you can find jobs in other countries too, leather is everywhere!

You could look at getting a grant, we have just done a course where 2 of the delegates had managed to get 60% and 100% of their course fees.
Maybe if you got the cost of the course covered you would not feel too bad about the travelling!!!!! We had a delegate from Nigeria this month so I cannot really comment on the distance - she certainly thought it worth the air fare.
If it was easier to travel with all the equipment we need we would do more courses down south but it is very difficult to find a fully equipped workshop to hold them in.
We can help you via email on problems etc but hands on experience is vital to get the best results. Let us know if we can help
Cheers

LTT are geared up for training (it does say it in the name) there are other places if you look around and I don't mean the one up in the North East, I think it's a matter of how serious you really are about learning, Harrogate is a nice place and Leeds is a nice big city so bring your missus and let her go shopping there and be really skint!!
