Hi,
Will be starting up hopefully within the next month so ringing around for Insurance quotes.
Rang Insuredrisks & for 2 million Pub liability & treatment risks have been quoted £125.29 with £250 excess. What are your thoughts & are there any special covers you think I might need starting out?
Have checked with the NCCA , who stipulated that I need the treatment risk aswell as public liabilty when I join once up and running.

try hsbc, i have full cover for £7.00 per month,
save your money and give the ncca a wide berth, spend the fee on some decent postcards from dp print hull.

Try the guys at allied Insurance, they gave a good quote for including window cleaning and machinery on the vehicle. They specialise in providing insurance for our industry. Include, employer and public liability, treatment - www.Polished-Insurance.co.uk, martin.holden@alliedinsurance.co.uk, 01942 40 33 70

Jlo what does it cover you for? i am guessing its public liability and doesnt cover you for any damage to anything you are cleaning, be it damaged accidently or through incorrect cleaning practises?

The £7 per month sounds good - does that include treatment risk?
Dont agree with you re NCCA - I got 5 or 6 jobs in my first year by being a member.
Last week I did another one that came via the NCCA, which led to a neigbour across the road having a job done. Those 2 jobs have almost paid for my 2nd year.

Although I am waiting for them to send out the quote so will read in full. I wrote down what was read over the phone .....
' Does the proposer require cover in respect of damage to customers property whilst cleaning/restoring/repairing or treating such property. This includes cover for the risk to customers property'.
Reading the above I think any insurance co would have a tough time with any get out clause after writing in the above.
I will call the other companies some of you have mentioned.
Many Thanks.
p.s.
:'( Was going to nip along to Cleamsmart today to source out the majority of the equip I need to start up including machine, unfortunately he is off on hols.
Wanted to have a good look at & try the various machines on offer & buy local.
Will have to wait until he returns!!!

As far as I understand it.... if you are in a custys premises and you elbow a vase off the mantlepiece you are covered by insurance BUT if you damage the carpet you are cleaning then you are not covered unless you have treatment risk.
I didnt understand that until I wanted to join the NCCA and asked my broker who asked the insurer and they said they dont do treatment risk. The broker found me a insurer that did treatment risk.

Hsbc insurance does cover treatment risk it comes under product liability. £7 is cheap i have Hsbc insurance and its £150 per year, but thats also without any leagal costs and tool cover.
