After 3 years of the Vito 111, I'm looking at replacing mine. Mercedes isn't the same as they used to be! Roof rusted year 1, door slider rusted soon after. Door hinges - both replaced, new alternator on 20,000 & now automatic window drivers side has gone. Customer service is zilch.

Saying that: Vivaro's, Renaults gearboxes go after a while & I've not read many decent comments about the rest of the ranges. I'm considering a VW transporter or a Fiat Scudo/Ducato.

Expert seems to have the clearest internet prices. 1200 kg and six doors has to be good.

Great van, i have the long wheel base with tailgate rear door. The aftersales as already been said, had not been great, but have now found a great dealer a bit further away from me. Just had my first service.

Well so far some good comments except for some funny ones :) , you see my prefer van would be VW transporter but with transporter you don’t find to many with 2 sliding doors on the side, which is what I am looking for, because of easy access to  the filters and other equipments. And so far when I talk to some other traders they all give good comments about Vito 109 cdi 2006 (56) plates.

Any more comments would be much appreciated.

Bosh

Yeah the 2 sliding doors are great, i have a fixed reel either side and a portable one at the rear for as and when i need it.

i have a 111 cdi 55 plate, good van, i have a 650 litre tank in no probs at all, as already stated my window drivers side seems to be playing up, however in three years i dont see this as a major problem. Mine is actually a duel liner, if i was to buy another one i would buy a longer wheel base so i could keep all seats in it permanatley. All this said tho they are a bit pricey so would maybe look at a cheaper option next time.
I WOULD LIKE TO STATE THIS IS JUST MY OPINION.

The wheel arches are plastic now, well thats what it sounds like when you tap them, the rest of the van is metal.

If a 56 plate model rusts there is something seriously wrong! My little Doblo (56 plate) shows no sign of rust ... and nor should it!

The one I have seen is in a mint condition, and its only done 29000 miles on the clock, so hopefully I will buy it.
