You could try Prochem Gluespot or Solvex. Have also had some success with Host

I use citrus gel pretty much everyday for avariety of problems.

In this case however I would put some white spirist on a towel and wipe over dwell then extract.

It's a reasonably good and seasonably safe solvent although it's maybe less powerfull than most clear solvents

Is'nt Solvex an expensive paint remover ?

Citrus gel is good for chewing gum, blue tac, tar, oil, some paints. Its main purpose was as a spotter to use on bitumen backed tiles as it sits on the surface and doesn't melt the bitumen as a liquid solvent would.
You really need a range of solvents in your spotting kit especially when dealing with tape adhesives. There are some where I have just given up and was unable to remove it 100%.

prochem bazooka spray is normally good for this, just pierce it like you would gum and spray generously , it normally gets underneath the tape or glue and brings it away from the fibres

always works for us, a stiff brush is good for quickly getting the rest of the mess off

I've had excellent results with " Rid a Gum " but too expensive if it's a biggish area

Just about anything, but mainly oily spots, why don't you buy some and try it for yourself....? It's not much more than a tenner!

Adhesive tape can be removed by the following products: White spirit / methylated spirit / prochems solvall / prochems solvex / POG / Anything solvent based. Quick spray and let dwell to soften & release product from fibre.

All the best,
Jason.

Just to add.........

I got 5ltrs of solvent from a local car paint / body panel type place for less than £10. It's about £18 at my usual supplier.
