Title: tds of 65 after ro
Post by: concept on July 23, 2009, 11:12:08 am
right, this is now absolutely doing my head in here.

my tds crept up a bit, and was advised to buy new filters for my merlin, which i have done, at great expense...

checked the tds after the merlin, and after an hour or so, it was 75.

was advised to move the system to as close to the mains outside tap as possible, which i have done, so there is now about a foot from tap.

production up to 1l per minute, however tds after ro is now 65.

at this rate, it will eat its way through my 6.5l di vessels resin at a rate of 1500 litres per refill of resin!!

absolutely pulling my hair out here....help please!!

I'm in a similar boat, although not quite as bad.Got a 300 gpd RO about 3 months ago and only window clean one day a week. The tds reading after RO when it was brand new was 35 odd which even then I thought quite high. Now its crept up to high 50s despite regularly flushing.Surely I don't need new filters or membranes already at so little use.Tds straight from tap is 330 odd.The pressure seems good although I don't know exactly what it is.I'm going through resin seriously quickly in my DI.

After changing the filters did you produce water for an hour then throw it away?
It is different from maintenance flushing.

If all the above has been done you will need to replace the membranes.

replaced membranes and been running it for 4 hours now, still nothing.

surely the tap pressure doesn't make enough of a difference?!

still getting 65-69 reading after ro.
