Not being cheeky concept bud, but didnt you say you not got alot of work, if you have spare time try yourself its really easy its not hard, unless you have tried??

your not really selling  as you dont want to convince someone as they will cancel pretty quick most of the time, your just looking for people who want it!!

I got someone local to me to canvass for me.

they also do my flyering for me too, and in time they will be doing my quotations.

Allows me more time for office work, and actually getting all the jobs done.

you will mate -get out every evening its nice and bright still it wont be here forever, dark nights will be back soon and its harder i find to canvass in the dark as many dont answer/feel nervous, plus its hard to price in the dark, just stay out knocking :) You will pay alot for something anyone can do, and you dont know if the work is 100% kosher from them, whereas you can get the right jobs

already been burnt badly by some muppets today, so wont be popping down for some pure 2moro.

really could've done without it too, been up the hospital last couple of days with my granda who is not at all well, and my filters packing up, seems just destined to go wrong this week.

looking forward to it changing for the better soon!

My daughter & her boyfriend are going door knocking for me over the next few weeks, so I am hoping for success.
We do our own doorknocking, nothings beats doing it yourself or close family IMO.

you cant beat canvassing yourself customers like to see whos cleaning their windows

theres been some muppets cavassing around some of my work and some of the guys that come on this forum our customers have told us that they dont look very trustworthy and look very scruffy.

from passed comments that i have read about round builders and door knockers people just have nothing but problems but few have had good results

Get out yourself concept.... take the mrs with you too.

People like it when they can see its a family business. My wife has been out knocking alot for me. Its quality jobs that she got and not one has fallen through.

We started out knocking together and then when she got one i would quote it there and then. Lately i have taught her how to quote because she was getting loads of yes's and i had to go quote them each night.

Will cost you a fortune with round builders matey.

No .... take the baby too! The householders will love it and trust you even more!

I mean, what guy or gal with a baby in a pram is gonna rip you off? (Pikeys excluded! ;D)

Im having the same problem getting a hold of crass bass!  He did have swine flu I believe but it is a nightmare to get hold of him.  He has canvassed me some good work at times but has absolutely not an ounce of common sense.  His favourite trick is to go into a nice village and then canvass the most horrible council estate in it for you.  He doesn't listen to any of your instructions and the customers he gets expect you to fone before you clean which is an absolute no go in my book!!!

He is constantly downbeat when you speak to him I think he may suffer from depression and when he is down doesn't answer his fone.  It's a shame because he isn't a bad bloke and his business has a lot of potential which is wasted.

that sums him up down to a tee! he isn't a bad bloke and when he canvassed it wasn't to bad, his workers on the otherhand are dishonest and will pass off anything as a sign up! also the end result was always a lot of hassle and you had whittle down to good customers so expect a lot of cancellations!!

Having just had the wife going out to canvass, I can highly recommend it. Both my wife and my son went out Monday night and got 17 quotes and 6 maybe's in about 5 hours. I rang them all last night, introduced myself, had a little chat and banter and going round Thursday evening to price them all. Most have said they are happy for me to go round back, and they don't even know me, just the reassurance on the phone and a little bit of trust I suppose. I'll let you know how many I get, and if its good feeback, then I'll be kicking her out again this week ;D ;D ;D...lol

Fieldsy,

Excellent result!

Does anyone know the name of the canvassing group in Maidenhead or surrounds?

I had it but have lost it

My own experience..........................had a meeting, agreed everything, they pulled out without even tellingme! false promises!
Another window cleaner I know had over £600 cancellations/not required/One offs and managed a £100 refund!!!

Leave you to make your own minds up?
