Title: Swine flu

Hi all

I had an email today from a client asking what contingency plans i have in place if any or all my staff at his premises contract swine flu. To be really honest i hadn't really given this much thought so suppose i have been caught napping. Have any of you guys put contingency plans in place for such a situation. Any feedback would be appreciated

In all honesty what can you do??

Email him back and ask him the sme thing lol, that just sounds like someone being a smart a*s to me :)

If your staff go down theres not alot anyone can do except agency maybe?

Turn it on its head. First of all contact a good agency and make sure you can cover the contract should the worst happen. Even if it costs you money you will still keep the client. Then tell him that you are actively looking at procedures to combat the infection which may benefit his business. There are products now which you could be using during your cleaning prosesses which will kill any germs but also leave a residual barrier on treated surfaces. This will not prevent Swine Flu if soemone in the building has it and is sneezing everywhere but it does mean that cross infection won't occur by touching contaminated surfaces.

Hi Mark

Really the only thing you can do is to sit down with your staff, explain to them that if they sneeze to wash hands straight away and to provide them with a hand wash that kills the virus. get them to sign a doc that you have explained procedures to them (to cover you legally).

Then you write to your client and explain to them about the meeting and ask them what procedure they have in place to protect your staff. Then you offer to supply soap and hand weash and im,pregnated wipes (ker-ching)

Had a case of a bloke sneezing in his hands and wiping it on a mouse mat!!!! yuk, I now supply tissues for desks, hand gel etc char ching

We've just taken a call from one of our office customers, saying they've had "Head Office" on to them to understand what they are doing to prevent the spread of Swine Flu.

Upon taking our service, the customer declined the telephone cleaning service we offered, so I see this as one of the key measures we could introduce.

This is the first enquiry we've had on Swine Flu, so I'd like to ask whether anyone else has had to 'up' their services yet, and if so, how?

On a side note, our contact said he also suspects the Group as a whole will be replacing their locally sourced cleaners with a national company.  This is something they've done before and subsequently scrapped, so I guess there must be someone trying to make a name for themselves somewhere.

Our guy has doesn't want to lose us and has asked us to put something together . . .  any tips on how to battle this?

Hi

Offer to bio fog their premises on a regular basis to take the virus out of the air and from the surfaces. This can be a huge add on it they take you up on it.

Depending on the size of the place you can charge £50 per room, offer discounts for a regular service.
