Hi folks,
I have been asked to clean a carpet 18ft x 12ft 80/20 mix which has heavy oil stains all around the traffic areas, the oil i have been told has been in the carpet for over a year....
So could anyone advise the best solution cleaning method for this if it is possible to clean...
Cheers,

Powerburst or Champion hot and hot water rinse with a bit of citra boost

Try POG or prochems solvall or even white spirit. Oil based stain so look towards solvent based stain remover.
I'd use the following method: Treat stains, let dwell while setting up, do general clean & see results of stained areas. Re-apply stain remover if not complete removal & remove as necessary. If stain persists then re try.
All will work some needing a little more dwell time than others.
All the best,
Jason.

Test clean a small area first to see what kind of result you can get. Otherwise you may knock yourself out cleaning the whole carpet only to find it doesn't look much better. It may be completely knackered after that length of time.

light mist a small area with citra boost in hot water, agitate dwell, then terry towel to see if you get a tranfer onto towel, if yes then same again all over and proceed with power burst prespray followed by hydra clearwater rinse, if only slight onto terry towel then boost your power burst with citraboost and dwell and agitate, then rinse with hydra clearwater rinse. if that don't get it out, nothing will, well nothing thats worth the money and time. plus its wool so to much agitation will leave it looking worse for wear.
don't overwet.

Prochem Solvall or Citrus Gel always does the trick on oil stains.
