Title: Sunglasses
Post by: a900 on July 20, 2009, 01:44:26 pm
This morning i was on a job i had collected payment and was just packing away when i decided to take my sunglasses off so that they would not get damaged. (Leaving them on the drive)  :-[

Packed the van away. Spoke to the next door neighbour about doing there windows.

Yes you have guessed it. I walked back to the van stepping on the glasses. I think i would have forgotten they where there and drive off if i hadn't have stepped on them.

What glasses do you guys use. I know that you can get some that are flexible or rugged. Are they as good as they make out? Or should i just be a little more careful?

I just use tight fitting ones and bend them in a little if they start getting loose.

Mine are just cheap ones that don't cost much to replace. I'd hate to spend a fortune on a pair to loose them or break them.

i use one of those cord/lanyard things, that push on the back of the glasses arms, that way i have them hanging round my neck when i dont want to use them.

I use Oakley K metal juliets, £240.
Bought them 4 years ago and paid £150 on top to have my prescription put in the lenses.
I use them on Holiday, playing cricket, golf, and window cleaning lol.
Oakley have a return policy, if you brake them they will completely repair them for £75.

This year so far I've already broken one pair and lost another (I suspect I left them on top of my car), so I'm with the 'cheap as chips' brigade.

Me too, anti mist, anti fog, the biz, should be for £270. Keeping them on all the time, not taking them off to lose.

I've had expensive ones and I still break them so cheap and cheerful for me. Well Boots cheapish and cheerful so they still block all the uv stuff. Agreed you only get one pair of eyes. Gotta look after them.

I went through several pairs of raybans over the years. They always got lost so i just spend a tenner in the chemist whenever i need some new ones.
Gone are the days when you had to spend a few quid to get sunglasses that had uv protection. They all have now. Regardless of cost.  :)
