Title: Business from home....
Post by: kevin James on July 20, 2009, 12:27:01 pm
Anybody had council enquiring about running a business  from residence?
I've been mentioned in local matters, just seen the minutes.
Am I right in thinking that this is not a problem?

Kevin.

Im pretty sure its ok mate, at the end of the day all you are doing is leaving home to go to work and coming back again....surely a factory worked does exactly the same thing??

I think the council would only have a problem if you are running a business where customers visit your house (hairdressers, mechanics, etc etc)

its definetely ok from home, as long you dont have custumers coming to home and you dont physiqualy work from home ( sorry about spelling )
and you can claim tax back for using a room in your home as an office for buisness and using your partner as secretary aswel just a thought.

kind regards
paul

be careful on this one, you need to look up the local by-laws. Our local council will not allow any business run from a council house, except for a taxi driver. If you  want to run anything else you have to ask for permission

What are they asking Kevin?

Evening Malc,

nothing as yet. A customer gad the minutes of a meeting in June. Apparentlly the hairdressers opposite are not keen on the quad trailer, which was parked up whilst the truck had major seeing to. Trucks back so everything moves daily now but this probably now has a momentum. I'm expecting a letter but further enquiries tell me that apart from raking on water, im not running a business from hone unless people call at thedoor. So should be ok. ( jystmake sure no one brings their windows to me!)

tWas it you chatting to Jeremey on the convention express?

Cheers kevin.
