Hi guys, can you help please, I have just got a backpack but dont know how to make pure water for it, as I dont have a van system. I need a back pack for hard to reach windows , conservatary windows etc. I live in lincolnshire {hard water area} do I need a d|i and r|o or would just d|i vessel do the job? I know I will get via lots of resin with a d|i vessel , doing it with just a d|i vessel . but what other and cheapest way be to do this? and is there any other ways I can make pure water.....what do you think guys? thanks. BARRY :)

RO for sure, if you went for a DI system it would cost you a lot in DI resin.

hard water ]= r o & d i.................................

When i first started with a backpack, a kind local window cleaner supplied me with 25l containers full of pure water for a very cheap price to get me going,
Ask around locally, i am sure someone will help you, until you get the ro system set up.

I'm not so sure about this really. I read your post that you only want to use the pure water method for the odd few windows (presumably doing the safer windows from a ladder?). If so, DI would be perfectly acceptable rather than messing around buying and setting up an RO unit. However, if you feel that you would want to increase your pure water usage, it would be better to get an RO once you are ready to make that happen.
Be warned that once you start seeing the benefits of WFP, you probably will want to use it on all window - or at the very least, all the upper ones.

thanks for the replies, I am going to get a d/I first then take it from there....thanks once again. barry

just buy a 50 GPD RO unit, about 70 quid

my 300 gpd was off ebay for 110 quid delivered and it still works fine.

Nonsense! Don't believe him! Whether the the tap water goes through at 1 litre a minute or 500 litres a minute it won't make the resin last any longer...it'll just seem that way as it will take longer to fill up the backpack is all.
Get yourself a cheap R/O setup and a water butt, you are talking about no more than £150 or so....
