Has anyone ever seen a transfer pump that can be reversed? Can it be done?
Sometimes I like to shoot off to the coast for a spot of windsurfing lately, but I really don't want to lug 600+ litres of water for the round trip of 120 miles. So, ideally i would pump the water back into my holding tank. I have a spare sub pump but it won't fit the van tank cap. It would be so much easier to flick a switch and suck it back the other way into the holding tank. I used the van pump to empty some out but it's sooo slow.

i would say 600 litres would take about 20 minutes to empty (just time to make and drink a cup of coffee)
and the money you would save in fuel it will p :Day for itself in one trip,

Hi there,

What about this one seems perfect for wfp.
I've just bought one of those small ones of ebay and to be honest they just don't seem that strong, plus there really light so you'll have to secure it to the tank to stop it floating around, I did try the small one off ebay but soon replaced with a submersible pump from screwfix.com
http://www.screwfix.com/prods/77014/Power-Tools/Water-Pumps-and-Hoses/Clean-Automatic-Water-Pump-400W
This one from screwfix.com emties my 250 tank in a couple of minutes.
