Title: trigger/on/off tap on pole
Post by: bad trippy on July 17, 2009, 12:19:55 pm
Can someone advise me. Im thinking i would like a on/off tap on the pole or as near to the pole as poss,i dont want to keep on going back to the trolley to switch off and on, idealy i would like a tap/trigger on the pole but fail to see how this works as the microbore needs to go up and down the pole so wouldnt be able to be attatched to any fitting,is there anything out there on the market folks?

got mine from wintecs. most of the suppliers sell them now though. it fixes to ur pole , where you actually hold it at the bottom . then press when u want water , dont press for no water.  ;D

Best suggestion in my opinion is what i use, is to have tap at end of main hose fitted in a tap holster on a belt, that way you have always got your tap with you and it`s off the floor  ;)

We use taps taped to the bottom of the pole we have tried all different ways and have found this the best. Unlike the trigger you can move your hands freely up and down the pole. We find the tape fine, however if you cant get on with that, purefreedom make an attachment for this purpose. One modification I would advise is having a small length of pole hose on the end of the hose with the female microbore attachment on, as otherwise the hose is attached directly to the pole and makes it a bit heavier.

You can do exactly the same thing with insulation tape or velcro.

I agree with Pole King,I have what he has,a tap on the end of main hose with holster on my belt and when I need to change poles I just connect it and away I go as normal,I can't be faffing about with triggers on the end of the pole, what if you have more than one pole,do you change it over or even buy more triggers for each pole,in my opinion they get in the way when they're on the pole.
I got one from Pure Freedom a a few years back and could'nt get on with it,it's so much easier now with the tap on my side :)
