yeah Colin you'r right....In most cases it's usually the "Working man" who tips the most.
In saying that, I done large domestic a job for 2 barristers recently (5 br,hsl,lr ad 2 rugs). No tip when job was completed but then 2 days later got a call from them saying their dog had an accident on one of their freshly cleaned rugs and could I come by and clean it again for them.
Now the rug was only a cheap polyprop, small and very easy to clean so I when I was in the area I called with them, cleaned it and wasnt going to charge them. He (the customer) was having none of it and insisted I take £20.00. Thing is the rug was only worth £35.99.

I got a tenner from a dutch windowcleaner yesterday probably because he saw me sweating like a b steward (job came up a treat too so maybe he appreciated that too).Regards Alan (swindon)

Best I have had is a tenner from a young lady in a first floor flat going to a second floor for bedrooms.
It was a hot day so she could see me pouring with swet, I was in a restricted parking area so I had to keep going out to move the van round the block (traffic warden was about), and she appreciated getting her messy carpets looking really good. Mind you, she was having a party the next day so it would have looked bad again. ::)

£40 for me. Did some carpets in a mansion with bad make-up stains on and they all came out a treat. Charged her £80 but she wrote me a cheque for £120! She said she was going to buy new carpets if the stains had not come out and I had saved her a shed load of cash! John
