I was considering training, but you need to train along side a team for over 2 years..
so that idea went straight out the window.

im not sure if this is correct but i was told all though irata prefer to have a level 3 trained absaeilor to manage and level 2 to supervise the hse dont stipulate this so you can do your level one and get insurance and start straight away.
Iv spoke to some one who has done this and done work for me and iv checked is insurance docs??
im no expert though!

so that idea went straight out the window.
you need a specified amount of hours on the job before you can pass each irata level some are 1000 hours, you can imagine how hard it is to get 1000 hrs of abseiling work in any reasonable amount of time so abseilers are rare and tend to come from fields such as oil rigs and leisure industries and the cross over to window cleaning doesnt happen much...

If what ronnie says is true do it yourself, but personally - i wouldnt be confident i dont think, the penalty for getting something wrong is gonna be your life :0
