Title: trippy goes poling, WATCH THIS SPACE
Post by: bad trippy on July 15, 2009, 05:00:32 pm
This is what springs to mind. Mike Tyson taking up ballet, Johny Rotten sings opra, Rangers fan worships the pope  :) Anyway heres the rundown. After the intial problems of setting up the RO, thankfully Mattinlester came to my rescue, ive been out practicing on my grandads dirty windows and my own. First impression ,lot of farting about, hose catching on everything including knocking all my solar lights over, tripping over objects as im looking up all the time and not where im going, getting wet! And generally struggling with a tool so long that it tore shreads out of my shoulder muscles.Anyway on to the quality, well after 2 cleans on my grandads using 75 litres of water, there still spotty. After 3 cleans on my own windows there still a bit spotty plus ive scratched the hell out of one pane of glass, looks like ive used sandpaper, so glad it wasnt a custy. As some of you know i just want to use WFP on a few dodgy windows i clean, all i can say is no way would i ever even consider going 100% wfp. when im up on me ladder i see everything thats happening, i see insects poo spider webs, paint, woodstain, grease spots, putty etc etc. God if i left a first clean i would worry like hell how the glass has dried out, with trad i see exactly how the glass has come out and can move on with total confidence. Lads your welcome to your WFP, long live ladders and trad :) :) :)

Trippy can you video yourself using the pole?
ifso place it on youtube so we can have a look.
Since I have been using my WFP I have only had 1 complaint, but that was due to wet walls - I have since dropped that customer.
I have only been unhappy with one house, that was a first clean, that now comes up great with the pole.

The average 3 bed semi takes about 10mins, and with a pole you can sustain that rate all day long, unike going up and down the ladders where you start to flag about lunch time lol

Not a critiscism, more an observation.

It looked like you were spraying the top bar of the frame ? Why were you doing that? Just after 30 seconds, theres no need to do that and why were you going over the window?

I'd like to see the average 3 bed semi taking 10 mins at that rate of 1 window every 2 mins. How many windows on the house? 3 and 2 doors, lol By that benchmark I guess I should be cleaning the average 3 bed semi in 2mins 30 secs, yeh, right PMSL.

Matt good video, but tbh i would have cleaned that quicker trad mate

Trippy,

I was once all about speed,

I used go up my ladders in all weathers, I absolutely loved it,

I felt fit, confident on a ladder, happy in my work, earning a fair wage with no employees, happy, happy days!!!

Except one day my ladder slipped and I smashed my ankle into 3 places, shattered my shin and broke both of my feet.

I spent 6 weeks in a wheelchair and was off work for a year and according to the doctors I was lucky.

What Im  getting at mate is waterfed pole is not about the speed aspect, it is generally faster but the best feature of it is its safety(unless you touch an electric cable) :o :o :o. If it took twice aslong as trad I would still use it.

Take care on the ladders, you only live once.

Dean
