Hey Guys
two small scratches on two windows, not sure but looks like it was me I assume with side of brush, there not deep but look like white marks best and cheapest way to deal with them, any suggestions, cheers in advance.
Matt

you didn,t say if they are on the glass or frame
-
On the glass mate, about 10 to 15 cm, not deep ones, look like white smudges any ideas.
-
Get the ladders out for a close look - maybe just a trail of plastic if you are really lucky.
-
If they aren't too deep use a jewelers rouge to buff them out.
-
ok cheers mate will try that, had a close look at them, cant feel them with finger nail when rub it, customer has always been a bit of a nightmare and i just know she will call up the most expensive person to sort them out.
-
before you do anything are you 100% sure there your fault! some custys have been know to try it on, specially on first cleans. they forget what marks and scratchs were there under the muck
-
i know what ya sayin, shes a nightmare but im guessing telling the truth, cant prove either way, and windows are quite new, just trying to stop it costing me a fortune.
-
tell er its not me
-
Only problem is, if i had to bet on it taking everything into consideration i would bet that i did it, windows been fairly new etc.
-
i hate to say it but if it can,t be proved either way then you can't really admit it was your fault. you need to make a choice between keeping her as a custy and repair/ replace window in which case she may drop you anyway after the jobs done, or deny it and see what happens.

I should hope not, she's not your customer. :)
Jewelers rouge can work if you can't feel the scratches with your finger nail however a fair amount of elbow grease, otherwise it would be the cheapest option to just replace the unit of glass.
Simon.

well might try this jewelers rag, and take it from there, any idea where i get one, um a jewelers, just wondered if anywhere else sells em, cheers for the advice guys.

HOW DYOU MEAN "WHITE SMUDGES" ? IS IT A SCRATCH OR MAYBE SOMETHING ON THE SURFACE SUCH AS A SMEAR OFF PLASTIC?
ID TRY T-CUT CAR POLISH AS A FIRST EFFORT TO GET IT OFF
THAT TYPE OF CUSTOMER NEEDS TO BE LET-GO AT THE EARLIEST OPPORTUNITY !
-
just dump her and instead of spending all this time and effort worrying and researching go canvassing and replace her and more ;)
-
just seem to be white marks mate, about 10 to 15 cm long, but cant feel a ridge in them, will try the t cut as well, didn't know you could do that.
-
have four other custys in the same road, bad rep and all that

Matt, your giving good customer service here and that is what will make and sustain your business along with good standards of work. Work with the custie on this one and when you do whatever you have to, have them in attendance aswell. Don't admit to it being a scratch(which I suspect it's not) if its not and don't admit to it being your fault. Forget all the "go on dump her" brigade. She may cancel when you have put right, but at least you can walk away knowing you have done all you can. I'm surpised that the "dumping brigade" have any custies left, if they get rid at the first sign of a whinge :)

Always pays to read the small print, when we had new, we had a couple replaced due to marks in between the double glazing, but it took a lot of "nagging" to get them to do it >:(
