Title: refilling backpacks the fast way
Post by: jouk45 on July 14, 2009, 04:01:40 pm
life at work is so much easier now, i highly recomend anyone with backpacks to start using them, i have 10 dispencer spring bottles now  ;D suppliers should definitly sell these, much better than the standard containers, only 15 seconds to refill, and you dont have to hold it,

Dodgy soundtrack on that vid!!

Good idea tho. Simple but effective, and prob a lit easier to lift & pour with the handle on the side?

its a lot easier, and you dont need to pour, you just sit it on top and you dont need to hold it while pouring, saves loads of time,

go to any spring water companys in you area that hire out dispencers, most of them give them away, some may ask for a couple of pounds

you can more or less do the same thing with a 25l can , just hold it on top the same as your doing and it fills in seconds , i,ve been doing it this way for a couple of weeks and it really eases the back muscles regards alan

you cant do the same as the spring bottles, theres no balance with the 25ltr containers, and they are slower filling and loads of water is wasted to, get a spring bottle and you will see what i m talking about, its all about improving

There would be a way to o this quicker jo, if you get a bendy tube and put it into the spring bottle so when you turn it upside down all the air will go out the tube and water will just go inthe other tank which will stop the bubbles, I use to do this when having drinking comps when i was young and skint.

you dont have to ad anything it refills in 15 seconds, i dont think it could get any faster, it has a wide neck so lets plenty of air pass in

The handle on the side of the container makes it easier to lift & pour,.. the spout in the centre means the bottle balances itself and doesn't require the same physical effort to hold in place as a standard 25 litre drum. Small improvements, but defo improvements IMO.

so your saying you can stand a standard 25ltr container on a backpack and it refills itsself, and it fills the backpack in 15seconds and its easier to hold them than the spring bottles?? you have lost me prestige, i have been handling them daily for years, and they are a pain, or your misundersatanding what i am showing in the video, do you think i would be using them if there was not a massive improvment,

while my backpack is filling itself, i am putting my pole and hose in possition, am not standing there like i did with the old 25ltr containers holding it pouring the water in, and wasting my muscles away that can be put to good use poling, if you are a daily user of the backpack this is perfect, if you only use it ocasionaly then keep the 25ltr containers,

i can hold a 25l on top of the backpack with one finger anyone could do the same , i really can,t see the difference from my way to yours judging by your video , if you think its brilliant great , but i think carrying 25l cans takes up less room in the van than the bottles your using , what i mean is more volume of water over the area used in the van , space in my van is an issue so the tiny improvement in working method does,nt stack up for me regards alan

think the point jouk is making is that while your holding your container with one finger he is off setting up pole and saving time x that by however many houses you do a day and it all adds up
