Has anyone heard of the trade scheme the NHS runs with a company call medcare, medicare or similar, missed the exact name? This company sells advertising space and web links via there website. The NHS staff are able to log onto this site and receive contact details from all soughts of companies that will offer a discount to the NHS staff.
This scheme runs nationwide and the starting cost per year is £480. I am told that there are 29,000 NHS staff in my area and that carpet cleaners gain 100 plus jobs per year from the scheme.
This sounds like the usual ad scheme tied in with letting agents, the difference being greater numbers involved and the credibility of the NHS ;) Has anyone any tales to tell about this scheme?

Had a similar offer earlier this your for the Police Force Assocation. STEER WELL CLEAR

According to my missus who works for the NHS, the only NHS supported scheme is:
http://www.nhsdiscounts.com/

That's a pretty mundane looking site and when I eventually found the search engine for local business there was not any carpet cleaner or plumber etc to be found in the whole country. The price is also half what the guy stated for advertising, sounding as dodgy as expected.

Hi Guys
All these schemes are dodgy, I would strongly recommend ignoring anyone claiming to represent NHS, Fire, Police Google, yahoo, they don't.
I had one the other day,
Him 'hi I am from Google'
Me 'No your not'
Him 'we are a Google approved company '
Me ' No your not'
He put the phone down before no doubt going on to his next potential victim.
Cheers

Stay clear, waste of money. They are good at promoting to business but in my experiance the people who would be spending money with you have little or no knowledge of them.

What I got from them was.............we have looped advertising on monitors in busy areas of hospitals they run constantly and are repeated every 20 - 30 minutes.
Professionally produced video which shows off your product or service to a huge everchanging audience.
Sounds interesting says I .......where exactly are the monitors to be positioned ?
At the A & E reception area ??? ??? ???
If you've had the misfortune to spend ANY time at A & E you will recognise it to be the LAST place you would choose for advertising c/c
