Title: ro booster pump goes where?!

some more help needed chaps!!

where does my booster pump go in this set up please?

instructions say after pre-filters, but before the ROs...

that white canister is a pre-filter i believe, but only has one piece of pipework, no in and out...

please help!

I was told to put a booster pump before the RO unit, so to me that means the pre-filters too. have some hose going from the pump to the inlet of the RO unit and have a snap fit connector at the other end of the hose so you can connect it to the hose bringing the water into the pump and RO.
word of warning though, I have been told that you can only use a booster pump for 1 hour at a time with atleast a 1hour cooling down period between uses.

i have my booster pump before the pre filters, been like it for over 2yrs, but i have heard also that it should be between tpre filters and ro. dont think it makes much differance.
 my booster pump works for about 8 hrs continuous, never had a problem, again just over 2 yrs. perhaps the guy who burnt his out, in another post, had the wrong pump.

I have also had my booster pump before pre filters and ro for a couple of years. I cant see what difference it would make if the pump was between?

Before the pre filters..all it is doing to giving you a decent pressure which some people get anyway.

I have run my booster pump for 10 hours before...especially in winter when yoor not able to me a much 'good' water as you do in summer.

I would like to know more about these booster pumps, when i done my plumbing qualifications at college we were all told that booster pumps being fitting directly to the mains is very much against water regs. A, You could be starving neighbours supply B, Because of backflow ie dirty water finding its way back into the mains system. We were taught the only way to fit a pump was just after a holding tank.
