I have to use it tomorrow so had a quick assemble today. All the bits seemed to be there and the sections slid into one another.I put some proper readable number labels on the sections so i know which is which.
As i figure it there are six sections numbered one to six, and the number six is duplicated three times. There are end caps on some of the sections that can be removed and you only really need one on whichever is the bottom one.
I was unable to find the instructions or the velcro straps. There was some ptfe spray which i assume you spray on the end. There was also a jar of vaseline which i'm unsure about.
Some of the sections store inside each other inside the bag so that all but two section 6's fit in.Could someone please adivse the cleverest way of storing which section inside which section for maximum efficiency?
If any of you find I disagreeumptions are wrong please tell me, as with any tips, (tried to modify this but double ss and aren't allowed?
Thanking you in advance for your comments

Your nearly there, if it's the thirty five foot one then all the sections store inside each other except the first one. I keep them like that all the time, no need to number them 'cos they are stacked in order. I don't bother with the velcro, you need to spray all the joints tonight with ptfe spray and leave to dry. Don't forget the electrical tape trick. Alex will tell you you don't need it but after you've jammed a couple of sections you always will. ;)

and the vasale you smer over the ptf veryl liteliy
-
I've got electic tape.
Are you saying wrap it around so they can't go inside each other too much?
How many layers? how far from the end?
You can't expect alex to say too much because of warranty issues.
I didn't spray them properly, i thought i could give them a blast when i came to use them. Are you saying i should do it now?
What's the vaseline for?
-
iv got 3 raps of tape ,when youv spad the end put thin cote over the top of in once its dried
-
Thanks tomy, how far in from the end should the tape be?
-
I'm going out there to spray them now. What should the drying time be?
-
Assemble the sections firmly but not too tight then put a couple of turns on the male of the joint up to the edge of the female to stop the male going in any further if you see what i mean.
-
mate, no need for velcro straps, just put the brush ead on and turn the hose round the pole itself, like a mapole, easy to do no slack easy to remove.
-
Thanks. just done as ftp advised, the turning of the hose will be good as i was worried about the weight of a 60' tail on the tee piece to the brush.
Should i put a plastic angle adapter on?
-
jar of vaseline
thats just alex presuming things about you and your boy ;)

Can you send me your email (alex@agardiner.co.uk) and we can email you the instructions (which should have been in the pack) and we will send the velcro straps out first class Monday morning.
All your questions are answered in the instructions including the best way of storing (1-5 inside 6, slightly sticking out end of holdall for easy re-assembly).
-
I will send the email for instructions.
The velcro straps and instructions did come with it, i just can't find them now, so no need to send me straps.
If this does become an issue and i really do need them i can always ask again.
Good customer service though.
-
got the instructions. only thing i did wrong was to grease where the brush fits. I will have to wipe it clean.
cheers
-
And, to stop even the possibility of the brush head spinning i will put electrical tape over where the two sections join. And remove it when i have finished of course. See, slumpys thinking up improvements already.
-
the brush dusent spin on last small sction
-
i greased it and you are not supposed to. 60' up i'm not taking any risks.
-
Everyone knows what the vasseline is for ;)
Sore lips.

One of the first things I did was put coloured tape near the base end of each section. The colours corresponded to snooker ball points (section 2 = yellow, 3 = green, 4 = brown etc . This is because the numbers wear and because I don't work with my reading glasses on.
I dread to think what the vaseline was for.

I have sold much more than hundred of SL2 in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine with the manual only in English and have never had any problems with my customers understanding... even they have never and nobody read the manual.

Great idea. I like it as well as playing snooker.

My sl2 cost £750, so i expect 100 might be £75,000, that's good going.
One purpose of the forum is if you don't know ask, and i didn't know- thats why i asked, idiot or not.
I did say that one of the first things i did was stick large number labels on the sections.
I bought the pole a few months ago but never looked at it, and then had to use it early last sunday morning, hence my asking about it. If i had used it without forum info it might have got stuck, but it now has tape around it to stop the sections embedding.
I am never too proud to ask Moem. Figuring things out from first principles is all very well, but no matter how bright someone is mistakes can still be made.

You should try it for domestics, it will compliment your motorized reel. :)
I bought mine for 1 job only. The number 3 section broke in half after the 3rd or 4th use which left me wondering how long it would last?
I've used it on everything since oct/nov time and it's going strong. Looking a bit frayed around the edges but it makes an easier way of working, easier.
-
To keep this under 1 post, how much are sl2 replacement sections for 1 to 6?
£80 for the fat part but how mcuh for the thinner sections?

he might even try a fishing pole for domestics ;) save the expensive pole for the high stuff
-
Section 1 = £52
Section 2 = £65
Section 3 = £72 (highest high modulus carbon content section)
Section 4 = £62
Section 5 = £62
Section 6 = £62
Extension Section = £69
All sections + VAT but with free shipping.

I have been thinking of buying 1 for back up, but if modifying it requires things like a vice and drill bits etc then i'm sunk. ???
Can bits like the thread for the fitting the brush onto the pole be bought and just fitted? And what pole is best matt. 5 1/2 ft sections?

Thanks alex, I was expecting more.
I am a couple of months away from using it (100% of the time) as long as my last 17ft xtel, before that gave up the ghost.
As long as 2 sections don't become unworkable in the next 2 months buying this pole will have worked out more economic than my previous best purchase. The xtel. ;D
