and he was asking for how much to quote a 3 bed semi ?     he sounds like a right scammer  and I wouldn't wanna touch his work.    as it has just been pointed out that you were supposed to have sold all your rounds  and now your trying to rent them out ?

something very fishy about you

To be fair, he's only asking for some advice.
Maybe he's a bit of a wheeler- dealer?  Good luck to him I say.

even a wheeler dealer gives a good deal from time to time  but wanting 10 X value of round  and £40 for every £100 rented is a really bad deal     rip off merchant YES

40%, I would charge about 20% if it's good work
It's pointless not playing fair.
Aside from the ethics of it all, if you play fair by people then you can end up with a longer lasting business relationship in which everyone is happy.
You can only rip people off once.

People aren't being forced to buy work at x10 or rent rounds at 40%. Besides he only asked if 40% was acceptable.

i well agree!! i think he is well dodgey!! why can't he be up front and honest from the beginning. Sold his round, whatever!! 3000 grand a month for 30000 quid!! His prices are awful £2-£3 per average house. Who would want to rent that!!

LOL i dont consider myself greedy just business minded
i was asking for advice

Truth being i felt bad for my employee especially why he was kind of family so i bought a small round for him to work for his self which he is now renting off me

Talking about price the average price for a semi or detatched house in St helens ans wigan etc is around £5 - the best priced houses i had were in widnes at around £8 - £12 and as the round is in rainhill it seems to be fairly priced

not dodgy at all
My business interest dont lie in window cleaning anymore they are in property
I also have a construction company but i am renting abit of work out to my previous employee
for what i paid for it i could rent it out for £30 every £100 even though it only earns £180 a fortnight il break even pretty soon
