Title: Conservatory access problem
Post by: Blue Frog Systems on July 08, 2009, 08:33:47 pm
Hi guys,

Been to quote a conservatory roof this evening. The guttering is about 12ft from the ground (its a big one) and my steps wont get me high enough.

Next door have a conservatory and a gazebo with wood on the top, so access from the neighbours house isnt an option.

What i need is a platform to get the height. what can you guys suggest for this ? Dont want to buy, just rent.

If you want to use a platform, just pop to your local hire shop and hire a mini tower.

I wouldnt get scaffold, I would ask about the towers you can hire, they are a lot cheaper and easier to move.

I hope you havn't priced it yey matey, Scaff towers are usually aluminum and come in at around £70-ish a day.

If you are doing quite a few have you considered buying a galvanised tower yourself?
They usually cost around £200 inc. planks to reach 18ft. (25ft working height).

Thanks for the replys.

Not priced it up yet. Told the custy that I would need to get some sort of tower, so couldn't give a price yet.

They knew I was going to say that though and understand because of the height / restricted access.

I don't have a regular need for this kind of thing or the money to go out and buy one. So for the moment its renting.

Will try to get to the local hire shop in the next few days.

Thanks
