Title: COFFEE POWDER
Post by: paulchambers on May 04, 2005, 08:47:37 am
This one is a head stratching problem for me anyway.  A jar of coffee dropped and spilt on a 80/20 beige carpet . Vacuuming has obliviosly been done but no water has been put on the stain now will water release the tanin and make the problem worse , the carpet is only 3 months old at a cost of £1100.   Paul

Paul,

Dry vac as best as possible , then extract with cold water only.

Then hot water/ms if required ,should do the trick!

Cheers,

Doug

Paul came across exactly the same thing last year, cleaned a ladys carpets the week before, then a very distraught call . full jar of coffee all over "granules"
I advised her to not to attempt any thing and keep any trafic well away.
then was a case of a good vacuum, and simply extracted" plain water"
 came up a treat
 good luck geoff
