Title: Cleaning Chennille upholstery
Post by: Eddie Conroy on May 04, 2005, 08:44:24 am
Came across my first chennille suite yesterday, it had grease marks on the end of the arms and flattened pile on the seat cushions. I did a water and shampoo test to a hidden area and there was no evidence of pile bursting.
Are there any hidden dangers?
I suggested to the customer that I used a spotter mixed in cold solvent and then finished with a 'hot solvent' extraction.
Any advice would be appreciated
Eddie

Hi Eddie

Where did she buy it?

If its from Next,Habitat DFS etc it almost ceratinly is 100% polyester and you can HWE clean it with no problems.

Vacuum, MS No4 agitate in and clear water rinse, dress pile and assist drying in usual manner. ;)

Easy to clean.
Use a microsplitter, dont get the water too hot and as Jacko sats brush the pile with a cotton towel after.
