Title: A funny tale with a warning
Post by: scud on June 30, 2009, 10:06:55 pm
I have jusr returned from Holland where my Aunt and Uncle had a party for their 60th birthdays.

The night before their party they supplied the venue for a charity do, held at their home.

Anyway, local business put up prizes for the raffle, the localwindow cleaner put up the prize of a free internal and external window clean.

Fair enough you may think, unfortuantly for him and to her delight my auntie won the prize, this is her house.

He knows what house it is - the party was held there.

The chances of a regular clean on a house with 24 bedrooms is slim - they havent been done properly since it was built 3 years ago.

On a plus side all the windows above ground level open inwards and she is going to let him off the cellar windows, she did ask me how much it would cost as she will pay him, money isn't an issue.

Any prices amongst you boys out there, approx 150 windows including the conservatory.

It depends on what you call regular. But its not inconceivable to have 2 clean per year for the next 5 years +

Once the owners have them cleaned they may feel like having it done often.

looks like a hotel to me

They originally wanted to build an hotel, but couldn't get planning, that really is their house.

Tthe island in the kitchen is 6ft wide by 22ft long and solid oak, the floors are covered with 1.7 million euros worth of Italian marble.
