Do you prefer to have water in your holster or not? How often do you have to fill a holster with water? Do you still have to carry a bucket around with you? What is best?

I used to carry the bucket around the job with me. Dunk the applicator in it...give it a gentle squeeze...drop it in the BOAB...and work round the house. If it got too dirty or dried out....back to the bucket. But...it stays wetter for longer in the BOAB....coz there's always a bit of water in it...and it's a great place to dump the applicator when you need both hands. You can shove your other tools in there too....though I didn't....because I had got into the habit of wearing a builder's belt...4 pouches and loops to put the squeegies in, scrim etc....ahh, the bad old day's...lol.

I think what you are talking about is a Bucket On a Belt (BOAB)
I use them all the time for traditional but don't put water in them as you will end up with a wet leg. Just use them to hold your applicator and squeegie.
And yes we still need to take our bucket to ring cloths out wash applicator out.
But would not clean traditional without one so much easier.

I also just use it has a holder. If you use the ettore sidekick then if you put water in it you will find you end up with a wet leg from overspill.
