been looking at a new cold machine and wondered what pump is best. there are comet pumps, general pump and interpump, my current one is a interpump from tech clean on a 13hp gx honda engine. i know dual pumps do a pump to on their machines with gears but i aint got a clue about which are the best. cant afford a hot washer.
-
wot do you guys think of this machine as you can operate two lances or whirlaways from it,

copy and past it into your browser.

Interpump and general have the best reputation.
-
that thor looks like some mean piece of kit!! coat a pretty penny i would say!
-
yeah i reckon the thor will be nearely 2k :-X

Interpump and general have the best reputation.
General & Interpump are the same just that the Americans brand them General and Europe Interpump.
Interpump/General great pumps will work all day for you with little maintanace.
Spares are easy to get hold of etc.
Pump of choice for most pressure washers
-
nice one rog as im after another cold machine at mo so will buy from america.
13hp honda engine with a general pump on.
-
roger have you heard of comet pumps? are they not as good? seem to be a lot of them on american machines.

Yes have heaard of Comet pumps USA built I think, cheaper then Interpump/General, I think they are ok,ish maybe not as reliable as Interpump from what I have heard & read. If you go the comet route check to see that you can get spare parts over here readily.
-
ok thanks rog. have you had any more probs with your tgeorge machine?
-
No, just a generator problem that was sorted out very quickly.
-
do you service the machine yourself or do you have a local guy for parts and labour etc? or has it not gone wrong much apart from that problem?
-
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Cat Pumps the pumps with nine lives
I've got one on a belt driven pressure washer never had to touch it in 6years. they are a bit more expensive but they have a excellent reputation.
I've also got a Speck (sp) pump which I'm due to fit onto an engine, if weight is anything to go by is brilliant!!
-
Mike,
You are right CAT, I forgot about them, excellent make.
DS
We have a company that now services our machines.
-
roger is it gum clean ltd that service them as tom durbin said they are in the uk and service his machines.
-
No it is not Gumclear that service them.
Tom Durbin does not know what he is talking about, he is a waste of time IMO.
-
would you not recommend them then? i was happy with my dealings with merril fox over there in the us and he is cheaper than t george.
-
oh yeah rog what do you think of the thor pressure washer at the top of this page on the link? its from duel pumps and can run 2 operators from same machine?

No Company is fine I just don't like Tom very much, won't go in to it on here.
-
that Thor machine is over £8000, I'd rather buy 3 normal 13hp 3500psi machines
but like with everything from duel pumps its well over priced.
-
what????? :o £8000????? :o ??? no way!! what a joke!! you can get hot washers from america for half that price and prob better too!! :-X

Had a look at he video, just a couple of blokes using turbo lances?
Nothing really that a 13HP Honda 15Lts per min couldn't coupe with really.
Look it is a cold water machine, in a nice frame, 4 wheels, using 2 operaters, but remember using 2 operators cuts your LPM by 50 per cent.

£8000 for a cold machine your having a laugh.
DS
If you have £10.000 spare I'll sell you my trailer Podell set-up, bargain compared to that. And it runs 2 operators properly.
-
that thor is a joke! no way would i pay that. i could get 8 13 hp machines from america for that price. were all getting ripped off here in the uk im shopping in the u s again!!
