I know what you mean mate. When I first decided to give this lark a go I had friends and family telling me I could do their windows.I felt bad taking money of them at first but I've got no qualms now.I've found out that window cleaning certainly isn't as easy as people think and business is business!

I am meant to clean my neighbours windows but never get around to it, but she insists on buying me a bottle of wine when I do, which is fine.
I wouldn't charge her because she puts up with the noise my 3 kids make with no complaint. :-[

But if a neighbour insisted on paying I would charge a smal nominal amount so she's happy

same ;)

I charge them going rate.

I don't really like doing their windows you do feel akward knocking for the money so i let it build up and they stick it through the door :)

I'm not a hard man, I just know it is a pain in the backside job, I also know what my dad is like. And they live 150 miles away. ;)

I used to do a few.  I charged them a bit less than I should have on condition that I could do them on Sundays (2 - 3 hours work).  I stopped doing them when I moved away.  I didn't start doing them again after I returned several years later.
The only ones I do now are my friend's place down the road (on request so charge a tenner due to excessive dirt) and the neighbour who lives in the flat below me.  I don't charge the ground floor neighbour.  I only do them because I soak her windows when I clean my own.

I clean practically the whole of the small estate that I live on; twenty two houses. and charge them the same as I would any other customer. It's lovely when they're due each month; I just walk out to the van and pull the hose out, no fuel bill, no driving and I finish earlier than normal too.

The only person I don't charge is the wife; if I did she'd charge me for my dinner when I got in that evening ;D

I'll clean for a neigbour as a favour or favour owed type thing...

But I will not clean in my street of even my town....this is where I live and I work elsewhere...

Cozy...if you watching this thread...All my neigbours are looking forward to your coming over to have a go at WFP...as I have volunteered you to clean their windows for them ;D ;D ;D ;D

Cheers
Dave.
