This place is out in the sticks, 4 miles from the nearest town, in its own grounds. They have a wedding this Saturday, and I was asked to give them a price to clean everything on the outside of the house that is plastic and/or glass.
How much?
Lets see who does it for £40 and who does it for £600 ;D
Matt

-
Half a days work so around a hundred for me. :)
But if I knew they were desperate £180. Probably low but realistic in my eyes. Whip along the soffits with my pressure washer wfp the rest. All depends on how bad it was to start with.
-
With the poles in the picture have you already done it.
I would say around £230
-
Someone has hit the nail on the head with a quote right on the mark.
For your info: the roof took 3 hours, I wanted to be sure it was done properly, that was the thing that concerned her the most, and she is holding a wedding there, so I thought was worth doing well.
When I went round to quote I implied these kind of jobs are nothing unusual and that she would at least have one less worry prior to the big day if she just handed the job over and left the rest to us (well, me ;D )
Theres no way the job could be done in 2 hours. Well, it could have, but it wouldnt have been done properly, professionally or with the hope of a recommendation or picking up the windows on a regular basis.
However, saying that it didnt take as long as I kinda figured. Ever get that feeling of wondering how the custy feels when you bill them after being there after such a short time? I left the final rinse on the windows til tomorrow for that reason.
-
The job is half done by the time the pics are taken.
-
Go on then who got it right was it elite mike

I told her 2 days expecting to do a couple of others up the road I have as regulars at the same time.

I would have said 1.5 days work so £350 to £400
Who was the comedian who said he could do all that in a few hours ;D
Thankfully you didn't subby it out to ************** or you'd have been going back and forth all week sorting it out ;D
-
£45 for house and con, £80 for gutters, £90- 100 for roof, and 3 hours sounds too much for roof
£225 in all, wouldnt want to spend more that 5 hours there

If it's not particularly green that's no more than half a days work for one guy, five hours max, if it was minging then that's a different story. you should also be able to empty the gutters in that time with a vac. The gutters are black plastic anyway so there's not much work there, windows are normal (about five minutes for some members on here). Conservatory is the most time consuming but it all looks pretty straightforward with bags of room.
-
matt never said including gutters, ???
-
I was there for 5 hours today, so knackered ;D
Neil did you get my email about the omnipole? I went to look at that job and my existing is long enough.

Sorry, million and 1 things going on, saw the e-mail just haven't got around to replying yet.
You did check the backs didn't you. Nothing like a 5 foot drop which you weren't allowing for ;D

knackered, i would have been estatic £300 od quid ;D
-
£180 all in inluding facias, ;D
I looked at the pictures before reading the replies. £180 is exactly what I came up with. I'm assuming it's a 1 off and I'm allowing for going around the windows/frames twice to try to ensure a decent job.
-
She did actually, jolly decent of her. ;)
Hope she charged you £5 a cup ;D
-
I reckoned that job as being a longish half day or a short day - whichever way you want to work it. I didn't reckon on 3 hours for the conservatory roof. If I had realised that I would probably have pitched it around £240ish.

I'm not surprised you was knackered, why are you cleaning the downspout in the first pic side on, you must look like the Hulk ;D

35ish, 5'9 ish, short shaved hair (number 2) from Crowthorne, Berks.
-
i'd have gone £200-£250 depending on how bad they were
-
maybe it is him / me and 2 other guys were cleaning out at a place called arborfield and this wise guy was there making out he had taken over the cleaning work for the whole building and we werent to show up anymore. he was full of cockyness i just wondered if it was him . i later checked and found out he was talking rubbish
-
Arborfield isnt far, the work I was selling is Burghfield
-
im not sure what he was actually doing as i didnt see him cleaning, he didnt strike me as somebody who worked hands on,more a delegating type . he tried to con me he was exmilitary and other stuff .
-
Im not sure what slrobo was doing either, I think he had some spare time on his hands to play stupid twats. But, hey, there you go, live and learn.
-
Wow thats a good price, i was thinking half that :)
But at 5 hours its still ok,, i wouldnt know how to say "its £350" and feel confident about it.... is that all you did when quoting?? Or did you do a written quote or something?
-
I walked round with her, trying to sound like this was just ANOTHER job *yawn* that we do these ALL the time *yawn* working with clients with special or one-off circumstances, like weddings, *yawn* :D
I started to feel I swung it when I said that it would be just one less problem for her to worry about prior to the day, so long as she just gave us the go ahead and we could put everything in place. I secured the job 3 months ago and told her then that Id calla month prior to the date and the week before, to allow for any changes or planning, marquee, that kind of thing, which I have done.
She did get a written quote too.
I told her the price reflected the fact that I'd allowed 2 days for it and 'unforeseen' circumstances, I was guaranteeing her having the job done and not having to worry about it, and that she WOULD! be highly satisfied with the job, remember.
So, yes a great price, they dont all land the right way up, but the circumstances helped.
Tell ya what, there was an ingredient 'x' involved...............my flyer :D

I thought fascias and barge boards were one and the same.
-
Looks like it might be turning into a regular clean after my visit today to pretend I was finishing off :D
Now if I had some guarantee in the first place that it would be a regular clean, my price would have been a fair bit lower.
For one offs, I lump all the extra time onto the charges. For first cleans, I tend to go a fair bit easier on them because I will be getting some benefit from the follow up cleans.
-
;D ;D ;D only joking i just changed my name and pic bet that gave you a fright matt lol
Only just seen the e-mail from some tart called customer :D

-
my visit today to pretend I was finishing off :D
sounds like a cowboy cleaner ;D ;D
-
£500.
My reasons for this large bill.
You are putting regular customers back to clean this one off clean.
One off cleans are usually tight was-its that only want them done either once a year or if there is a birthday, funeral, or in your case a wedding.
Hand that bill over and smile nicely for 5 big ones ! ;D
