Title: Builders clean
Post by: cleanAdrive on April 30, 2005, 09:39:02 am
Hi all. My first time on, so treat me gently.   I am new to the cleaning industry too. I have been asked to quote for some builders cleans on apartments and houses in the Liverpool area.  Any advice would be very welcome. How to price the things would be especially welcome.

Thanks

Hi CleanAdrive

Surprised that no-one has answered this one for you. If you do a search through the forum, around 2 months ago there was a lot said on the subject which should help you. However, no-one will feel comfortable in giving prices for you. Mainly because what i can charge down here near london way will not reflect the prices and going rates up your neck of the woods......also, some of us tenders for jobs near each other, and it wouldn't be sporting to give the prices out... ::)

All the best in your search on this forum and if you have any other questions that you can think of afterwards.....then you know where to post them.

Kind Regards

Tim

Thanks again Timbob. I didn't expect to find out anyone's prices. ( You never know though). What I was hoping to find out was the method used to price this type of work.
I know prices will vary from one part of the country to another, but hopefully the method of reaching that price remains constant, or am I even thicker than my kids tell me I am?
I will trawl back through the forum and see what I can come up with.
Once again, thanks for your advice and if you ever need help in the Liverpool area, let me know.

Kevin.

Hi Kevin

As you will probably find when looking through the forum on this subject, we have all found it difficult in the begining to find the best price for our customers. After sending in a few tenders and finding out from the client through trial and error how the pricing was, you will be able to gauge the average pricing up.

To get to the prices!!....Price the job with a view to having it staffed with a couple of cleaners, your cleaning materials and equipment.....which is not a lot really.....and add ontop some profit for yourself.

Failing that, call your contact and be cheekey and ask what there budget is for the site and do the prices accordingly.

Have fun and let us all know how you fair....but do not be put off if you do not get it, but use it as a learning curve for later tenders.

Remember too that they will be looking for all the Health and Safety information along with proceedures etc etc which has been discussed in length in one of the other postings..

Kind Regards

Tim
