Title: Junk Mail?
Post by: daysdeepclean on June 22, 2009, 08:58:12 am
I have just put a "No Junk Mail!" sticker on my door and realised that I'm maybe being a bit of a hypocrite. Do any of you consider your leaflet "Above" the description as junk mail and still post them through people's doors?

I did last week by mistake and half expected a phone call to complain, I would have probably still tried to sell my services to them though ;D

I tend not to bother as I think you may end up losing a potential customer who could have found you through other advertising and may just remember your name from the "junk" mail they had from you.

On the other hand a lot of these stickers look quite old and could easily be from previous owners.

I tend to respect people's wishes and never post through doors rthat have a sticker on them. Might put a sticker up on my own door window tho!!

If they have a looong drive or the letterbox is hidden away somewhere silly and when you get there they have a sign - they get a leaflet.  ;D

I'm no fan of junk mail, though i don't think it fair to put the onus on the person delivering it either, so I allow it all. Also, that way i know it'd being put in the recyling bin and not in someones garden or the canal etc. I have to say, whilst i'd sooner not get it, i can't see the issue. I get far more junk mail sent to me via the mail system than i do random leaflets.  :(

I'm sick of going to the tip and recycling crap leaflets.... I must say though, I wouldn't be offended if a local business was popping their leaflets through my door, It's the "To The Occupier" letters I hate! And the ones offering me a stair lift, I'm 36 and live in a bungalow.... (I'm joking about the bungalow ;D)

The ones 'to the occupier' are delivered by the Royal Mail, or at least mine are. My understanding is that they have to deliver them regardless.

Mike,

It is all I've got to worry about, Oh and the mortgage, kids, business, male pattern baldness, toothache, being over weight, trying to quit alcohol, deciding what to make for tea tonight, house work, being burgled, road tax, council tax, tax, accountants, keeping the wife happy, Exel motors blowing up....... And a whole lot more ;D But Yesterday, Junk Mail was really pi55ing me off.... Today? Nothing really, got a cracking day ahead.... Cheers ;)

If they have a NO JUNK MAIL Sticker it means yours will be noticed more.

I have had customers phone me from a leaflet where there is a No Junk Mail sign on the door

Colin

You should put that pic on the leaflet, you will get lots of calls. Not sure they will be for CC though. ;D

If I advertised through leaflets, which I don't, I would not regard them as junk mail; so there should be no problem  ;)
