Title: AJ - contract hire
Post by: Rogue Trader on June 21, 2009, 08:54:55 pm
Hello Mate,

Just been reading the other thread about your contract hire arrangements and i am thinking about trading in the old bangers for something under warranty but i was just wondering about sign writing and instaled system and at the end of the 3 years when you change vans do just give the old one back with your sign writing/scuffed protectacote and holes in the chassis where you have pulled the system out?
How does it work,

Also what vans do you have and how much do you pay??

Cheers

Matt

good question.

Alex gardiner told me you fill holes in floor with rubber gromits.

others have said dealership didn't want it.

i know varitech do van leaseing and are obviously ok with this as they fit tanks, same as ionics probably.

Come on aj :D (thanks for your advice)

Most companies dont care, but just ask.  I have had the sides ply lined, the floor has protectakote and i have the sheet of ply for the floor in the unit. When i have finished, some bungs as said, then screw down the ply to the floor.

Sorry Mate.

seal holes with rubber gromits.
Take signwriting off. (hair dryer does a good job)
We haven't used protektacote. Its not my van, so not too fussed with it.

As long as the body work is good and you haven't gone over the contracted mileage, they're pretty ok. Its just got to be resaleable. so that means service stamps ON TIME!!

Just had quotes from tilsungroup for a Primastar SE for £213 p/m with rear parks and a Trafic for £220 p/m with A/C & lec fold mirrors.
they said it was fine to put my own rear parks on the trafic as long as it wasn't a bodge job.
hope that helps

sorry aj.

Am i right in saying with contract hire just pay monthly's (as you said  :))

so do you not have to put down some sort of lump sum say 3 month's up front?

And would dealership be intrested in buying my old van? on a c/hire deal

thanks lee

You do have to pay the equivalent of 3 months rental as a deposit followed by 35 further payments (if you want a 3yr lease) then just give the van back and start over again. So it could cost you from £450 - £700 to get on the road depending on the van you want.
I wouldn't think the lease company would be interested in buying your van, but if you go to a main dealer, you can ask.
