The time of year again when the serve no purpose at all wasp decides to build nests in the most awkward of places for a window cleaner. Normally i just inform custie, cant clean that window due to the wasp nest you need to get it sorted and then carry on my working day. However for some unknown reason on thursday i decided to tackle the little bu**ers. An old aged customer had a nest in a small bird box hanging on her wall. I told her that i couldnt clean the window above due to the nest. She said no problem ill get a bag for you to put it in. Im like what, but due to her age and me being very stupid i agreed to hook it off the hook using a broom handle and drop it into a bin liner. My plan failed and i got stung 5 times. All over my neck and just under my eye which is still swollen and looks like a shiner.
Now i know some of you are going to start the wfp/trad debate but they didnt attack me when i was on ladder right next to them, they only decided to inflict mass pain when i had a pole in my hand stood about 5 feet away.
You have been warned :)

You mean wasps don't make marmalade and that my mum has been telling me porkies all these years? And I trusted her...this is terrible news!

marmalade! lmao, good one!
you are a making hard work of it.
buy a can of wasp nest killer from b&q for about £5 I think. spray it on the wasps nest. it comes out in a wicked jet so you can stand WELL back. then run off (girly stylee). it melts the nest and kills the wasps.... sorted! ;)

I guess getting rid of the queen is the key!

spraying the nest is fine, but what if theyre building it in the cavaty in te wall.
-
it's a good jet. I think it w0uld squirt into the cavity
-
as in previous post .ant powder in cavity .on nest or any little holes u see wasps enter .
-
Get off to B and Q and get a container of ANT POWDER. It has Permethrin in it, same as council stuff.
Do it in the LATE EVENING when they're not flying.
Puff it around the area the wasps are coming in/out from. (They pick it up on their bodies and transfer it around the nest). You can't puff the container upwards, as we found out, so maybe work out a way of tipping it from another container if need be. This is serious stuff...... COVER YOURSELF UP AND DO NOT INHALE!
