I am looking into setting up a recycling water unit that can be clipped onto various flat surface cleaner attachments - for pressure washing.
Now I have the basic idea of a circuit of flat surface cleaner with extraction unit attachment (this would be a form of carpet cleaner/wet vacuumn - that would be able to handle the debris), hoses up to approx 200 ft or longer to a pond filtration unit, with removable filters (for easy maintenance and cleaning), to water tank and then back out to the pressure washer in a loop.
Now I have seen all the possibilities on the internet, as far as water reclamation for pressure washing but they are very expensive and I feel it can be done a lot cheaper, with similar results.
The questions are what extraction unit could handle the workload (8 hours per day, possibly 5 days per week)and debris.
What working distance from the van could any existing extraction machines handle (machine will be in the van)
Would the exhaust on the extraction unit work whilst the vacuum is on and could this be used as the feed back to the filtration unit.
Is there a flaw with any of the methodology here

Easy - pump the waste into the customers pond filters and suck the clean water out with the pressure washer - no need to buy a filter system ::) ::) ::) ::)

Thanks for that, just wondering what the maximum working length of recovery hose would be, I would want to keep the unit in the van and or trailer and just work with a loop of pressure washer hose and vacuum recovery hose.

the only problem i see is the amount of hoses to get tangled and also storage of the vacuum hose, i think you would need 2 inch vacuum hose to deal with the debris and to coil 200ft of this would be a bit of an hassle i also think dragging this behind whirlaway it will soon wear and get holes in so you will loose vacuum i even wear out wire reinforced pressure hose so the vacuum hose wouldnt stand a chance.
good luck though as if it works it would deffinately make the job quicker and be great where there is problems with drainage.

hose storage is not a problem, look at the hose and reels used in truck mounted carpet cleaners, even the vacuum unit from one

Already onto it. Posted this up there first and have been pointed towards a roots blower. Will be contacting them tomorrow.

we did speak about this some time ago on here
my wet vac which I made myself out of an old carpet cleaning machine [I just like playing about with things]
see pictures below like the steam easy 400 cut out middle between dirty water and clean water side put some pond filter bushes between the two compartments this traps all moss etc in the first compartment all that goes in the second compartment is fine silt and sand put a dirty water pond pump on a grid.
Which is pumped into flower beds ect the pump is turned on automatically by the float the machine will suck water and pump out at the same time?
Y ou must fit a non-return after the pump otherwise it will draw air just like the vacuum
It works now I've got to try to work out how to filter out the sand.
The great thing at the bottom is to drain the water and muck out
You can get a non-return valve from tech clean
In the van
I’m thinking of using a vortex which is round and holds 200liters
The water enters at the near top of the chamber and is angled so the water is forced in a circular motion which makes sand fall to the bottom quickly, at the bottom is a draining point
About 12in from bottom is the exit port which would go to a different size foam filter the water would enter from the bottom with a drain valve fitted so you can clean the foam from the top and all rubbish can go out of the bottom drain valve.
After this would be micron filters not sure what they call them and some where a pump to a holding tank and on to pressure washer
I'm only doing domestics at the moment but can see where you are coming from as car parks will get flooded very quickly and nowhere for it to go
Would be interested if you’re using a FLC with vac port in how your getting on with it.

What working distances have you achieved with this set up. I have just given one of those away but I have another couple of not in use carpet cleaning machines that might fit into the system.
I have a CFR 1000 that seems like a very powerful machine, if I can sort the wiring problem out!!!

the electrics should not be a problem if you're using an old carpet cleaning machine as you already have a solution pump switch when you remove the solution pump just traced the wires back to the switch and connect up the fish pond pump to the switch.
When you run the fishpond pump wires to the switch your best bet is to drill the hole at the top vacuum compartments no water leaks here
The most I've ever run the pump out hose is about 60ft having said that I have run a fish pond pump hose over 100 foot when pumping out flooded waste ground behind my house and that was up hill.
I think the main problem here would not be the distance but the height you are pumping to for example the height of your holding tank above the pump I'm pretty sure if you spoke to the fishpond pump specialist or manufacturer they would advise you on the sort pump distances via hight.
I think it's called something like pump head height.
If you could make your filter system up so it is sealed ie pressurised this means that the pump form the carpet cleaning machine would pump into the filter and out to holding tank problem here if the holding tank is full a whole system will come to a stop also hard to clean out.
