During cleaning an oven today, the paint started to come off around the edges of the door closing area next to the seal :o
never happened before! Seems this part must be anodised aluminium but would have thought enameled as usual.
The job is for an estate agent who we do regular work for.
I am going to inform them tomorow as to what has happened.
Does anybody know of a paint that can be used to correct the situation.

Whoops! Something we all dread :'( It's a blessing that you have carried out lots of work already and developed a good reputation!
Something similar happened to me a few months back, when I was wiping over the front of an oven, (not with oven-cleaner I hasten to add!!) the metallic coating on the control buttons began to peel off. What a dilemma that was :-[
I do not have the answer but wish you luck and hope that you find a remedy.

Hi there.
No I don't. I wasn't cleaning the oven itsels but wiping the top/front with flash orange de-greasing spray. The problem I think was that they were plastic buttons covered with a silver spray. I have learned quickly as a result!
I use grill-o-mat inside the oven (lakeland) with no problems so far. Is there something you use regularly that you would recommend for cleaning oven interiors? I personally am interested in the domestic & not commercial side of oven cleaning.
