sorry bout this but i need to confirm a few things!
the plan.build my own system in a trailer.i'm a classic car nut so if i have to have a new work vehicle to tow a trailer i'd rather have one i want not need!i.e.sad but sensible escort van etc.
this is my current soon to be replaced steed.not really up to towing this amount of water :'(
(http://www.muchos.co.uk/members/bouncingbunny/Img_0262.jpg)
1/oviously a trailer with a payload capability of taking aprox 500 kg
2/planning to have 400 litre tank-this should get me round thetops etc
(http://www.reachandclean.co.uk/images2/400L%20flat%20Tank.jpg)
3/i'm gonna need a ro system big enuf to fill it overnight.any suggestions as to which one?
4/pump.any ideas?
5/leasure battery and spit charge unit.no probs here.
6/di unit.i suspect i'm gonna need this to as i live in a hard water area-dorset.(400ppm so i have been told tho unconfirmed)
7/poles pipes unuions etc as requred.
am i missing anything?
am i sadly deluded that i can do it?
is it worth doing it ?
all advice greatfully recieved

Hi
No advice but keep us informed as I'm looking at building a self contained trailer system to compliment my van system, ie can leave it at site with workers and continue with round.

1/oviously a trailer with a payload capability of taking aprox 500 kg
you will need this if you are having a 400 kg tank
2/planning to have 400 litre tank-this should get me round thetops etc
i just do the tops and use 100 - 150 L's a day (thats 4 - 6 barrels of water for the Trolley)
3/i'm gonna need a ro system big enuf to fill it overnight.any suggestions as to which one?
It will have to be a fair size to fill 400 L overnight, have you thought of a tank in the shed / garage to fill all day and night then just tranfer in the evening to your tank or barrels ????
100 Gall RO would do you
4/pump.any ideas?
check out the DIY site below, it has a pump box which has the complete kit in it, otherwise look at the pump on cleantechs site (if you want to wire it up yourself
5/leasure battery and spit charge unit.no probs here.
6/di unit.i suspect i'm gonna need this to as i live in a hard water area-dorset.(400ppm so i have been told tho unconfirmed)
DI i only for a final polish before it goes into the tank / or storage tank, better get a RO and let that do the hard work
7/poles pipes unuions etc as requred.
check out the DIY site for links for the poles, brush etc etc
am i missing anything?
dont think so, well aprt from hoses
am i sadly deluded that i can do it?
its fairly easy, the DIY site has a forum if you need other advice
is it worth doing it ?
thats for you to decide, just remmber, you cannot fall of a pole
all advice greatfully recieved

points answered above in bold
have you thought of a trolley / cart system then decide if you need the full 400 L's, as thats a fair bit for just tops

cheers matt.have looked at your site.very informative.still trying to gain all the required gen on this rather complex subject(woulnt be complex i spose if i was prepared to shell out an ocean of dosh for a turn key system ::))
my round consists of some fairly large buildings up to three floors and am supposing on the water lasting around or maybe just less than four hours, maybe ive over estimated my usage?
this lark with the di.will i not need to have this then if i have an ro.i sort of got the impression that i would need this to bring the tds(hey see i am picking up all the jargon even if i have no idea of its actual meaning ;D)down after the ro?
now about the ro.are you saying i will need a 100 gal ro if i fill my 400 l tank direct as i'm thinking or if i have it running all day and decant it down to a smaller tank?
if i wish to go all night to 400 litres what size ro/how much dosh are we talking?
thanks.bunny

yes, get a DI cylinder to give it a final polish after the RO
thus
Tap water in to the RO unit the waste to the drain (or water butt for watering flowers etc in summer) Pure water out goes to a cylinder of DI resin (the bigger the better, it will last longer)
i have this one : http://www.ro-man.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=33&products_id=98
then the water that comes out of that will be 000 TDS for a fair while
yes i was thinking of a 100 gall to store into a tank and then move the water into your tank on the trailer, if not, you will need a 200 gallon RO, as 100 gallons is 400 litres (aprox in US gallons), so a 200 gall will produce 400 L's in 12 hours (aprox)
http://www.ro-man.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=22&products_id=100
200 quid
or the 300 gall for 330 quid
http://www.ro-man.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=22&products_id=123
400 L's will last you all day imho (it last me 3 days ;))

I only get about 250 pure litres in 24 hours from my 100gallon Ro .
it is running at the lower end of the blue pressure scale tho'
so maybe not big enough to make 400lts
i use the whale pump that drops in the container , cost £18 , gets the water up to 3 floors ok .
