Some customers like their carpets cleaned regularly some wait until there's a special occassion etc what's the frequency of cleaning for your customers and what do you recommend for them?

I reckon you can't recommend a frequency of clean until you have actually cleaned a customer at least twice. The are too many parameters to take into account, i.e. how many four legged creatures roam the house, how many foul children reside there, how out of control is the woman of the house, how effective is the daily cleaner if there is one?

i let them decide but keep in contact on a regular basis. eg christmas card annual postcard after 11 months idea is not to be a pest

I was recently taken to one side where a woman said that people were talking about the fact that that I might be crap at my job, because in the last 12 months of starting up, I've cleaned the same ladys carpets 4 times. They are a minging family, the house stinks, dog running about kids bringing poop in all the time. The carpets needs it and I've tried everything to stop resoiling.
But I asked a while ago.... How often do you guys clean your carpets.....? 3-4 times a year on average! ::) ::) ::)

Why do they think you were crap if the same person was asking you back time and time again? I am not disputing what you've said, I am questioning the logic of the people who think this makes you crap. Surely if you were doing a bad job you'd not get asked back at all.
If I saw a carpet cleaner at a house on a regular basis, I'd make the assumption that either the houseowner was fussy or that the carpet cleaner was doing different rooms.
I wouldn't even think that the owners were well riffy, because my own experience is that riffy people dont have their carpets cleaned. Then again, I'm not one for watching the neighbours. It worries me when I hear about people who do, I worry that my neighbours are watching me :o

I have a couple of customers who get all of their carpets cleaned 4 times a year because they have very light coloured carpets and like their house to be clean !!!!!!!!
WE can't stop resoiling !

Me too,one where the carpet fitters put the kicker spikes down too far and went all the way through the carpet backing,loads of black spots all round the rooms,one has a sports treatment massage room,with oil all over the carpet too...
Did have a carpet fitter tell one custy to only get them cleaned as a last resort,as the backing will delaminate ! she was a reg custy,until he said that ! :(

I have some clients that i go to clean for 3 or 4 times a year on the domestic side.
