hi trevor ,
sounds like a resin change
-
Are you having complaints? No? Change it whe it gets to around 010
-
change your resin and your water will go back to 000
filters are recommended to be changed every 6 months but not always necessary
membranes every year
Brett.

trevor you do flush the ro at least every week
don't you

I agree!
I have been running my tank at 6ppm for about 18 months now and never have any complaints. I also do my own windows and they are spotless! Occasionally it goes upto 8 so I flush the membrane with pure water which brings it back down to 5/6.
Ionics told me that it is ok upto 10ppm.

NO!

Yup, resin change is needed.
About flushing the membranes.
I would recommend flushing it for 5 minutes every day before every fill, and then a slightly longer flush at the end of the week.
You wouldn't brush your teeth once a week when all the gunk has build up would you? Best to floss uhm flush regularly everyday instead of one big flush job a week.

NO!

might just sort it for you
hope that helps

flushing for a good 20 mins will help, if you have an inline tds meter, pull out the progs and flush them off aswell as they and cause an incorrect reading. as I found out after spending £50 for no reason :(

Brett.
you dont need to change your membranes every year.
i use a 200gpd ro, and have had it over 2 yrs, it still knocks my tds down from 550 to 6.

Do most of you have resin before static,
My set up is salt through softner, run till salt all gone, then through ro for about 10-20 mins, then i turn tap to produce water into a bucket till its 002 then into tank, transfer to van then through resin to pole,
Chris

Inline tds meters are notoriously inaccurate. Always use a hand held and check it periodically with some calibration fluid.
My inline tells me my ingoing tds is 230, when it's actually 290-310, and outgoing is 11 when it's really 21

Is that the higher spec industrial inline meter? Or the cheaper one?

Flush RO twice per week from your source tap and disconnect your DI before doing so.
PS
Just found out this week that resin goes off, it may have been mentioned on here before and i missed it, but i got a high reading last week, changed resin, and still a high reading, so ordered 3 prefilters, changed them, still a high reading, and after enquiring about this, the suppliers reckon after 6 months of keeping resin, even in a selaed container it can go off.
Ordered small 10" canister with fresh resin in, and TDS back down to 000, mind the old prefilters which have been in 6 months were black.
Hope its a help ;D
