Post by: David Edmondson on June 10, 2009, 12:40:12 pm
I need some help please.

My wooden ladders are 2 years old now and are in need of some new stain. Can anybody tell me the best to use and where to get it from.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Dave

Any oil based stain so it soaks in not water based as it will peel
Or linseed oil would be better
Danish oil but that might be a bit slippery when wet
Places to get it would be any diy store or a Dulux Decorator Centre

Thank you for your reply. I put some linseed oil on my big ladder about a month ago and it made it very slippy. Do you know what I did wrong?

I bought some varnish but it says not to use on ladders that have been stained. Is it ok to use varnish on them anyway?  Very grateful for your thoughts. Dave
