Hello,
I have just connected my 300 GPD RO unit up and it has an inline TDS meter. The meter reads 210 in and 10-11 out as pure water. Is this ok to clean with? How can i get it lower?
Thanks for your help.

It needs to now go through resin.
-
you were s.posed to let it run for a while without the DI connected
then the answer is DI resin, which will bring it down to 000

Are you saying that i need a seporate DI unit? The RO has a sediment filter, CCB Filter, chlorphus Filter and 3 membranes.

yes
you can get them in various sizes depending on how much you want to spend
i have a small 250 G unit and its fine ( the smaller you get, the more often you need to change the resin )

Ok. Would my TDS reading be ok for the windows for now? Would it be worth having the DI on my van?
I have another query with my filters. It has an auto shut off valve. This valve seems to vibrate, more like shake, when the system it running. Is this normal?
Thank you.

Probably, but you should check as you go.

No. Better having it at home. Makes things easier.

Thank you.

When I have new membranes my 300gpd produces at 12/14TDS and over the months rises to about 25 at which point I replace the membranes. (in at 350 plus)
I run two resin chambers in series and the water goes into the van at 000 for a few tankfuls and when it reaches 005 I change the resin.

My water goes into the RO at 330 and comes out at 30 odd.Probably only made 1000 or so litres of pure water so I'm sure the filters are still ok.Bloody annoying as it means I'm changing the resin quite frequently in one of those DI vessels shown above.

Get a larger vessel then.

No please, whatever you do don't get them, you will be changing resin for ever. Get a 10l DI cannister. After that's depleted get another one and put them in series (after each other) so the first depleted one will still act as a pre filter. Buy cheap buy twice.

Clean your own, then you can tell :)

Buy a seperate TDS metre and you can check if the inline one is accurate, some inline metres are crap. I never use inline ones, just the hand held ones, they are £15.00

How long does this last you before you have to re fill the resin?
-
I have a 10inch vessel like that, have to change it every 2-3 weeks, but it only holds 750ml so a bag of resin lasts a long time.

i had 1 of those and it would last ages
i now use these

the only reason is its really easy to refill and takes about 1 min to refill ( which i do whilst the water is pump into the van ) it also last me a good time, my RO puts out at 005 TDS

For the sake of a little extra money i think it would get on my nerves replacing the resin every 2-3 weeks when i would know that i could have spent a little more and replace it less often.
What is that one you have Matt? How big is it? How much does it cost?

its VERY small 250 ml of resin ( as i said, its very quick to refill, just pull out pipes, undo end and refill ), my resin is currently all gone in the cylinder, its run out / spent ( i must get around to ordering some more ) , but as my RO is only 005 - 006 it doesnt matter as thats good enough anyway
