Title: Worth getting into pressure washing as a sideline?
Post by: Craig 72 on June 02, 2009, 01:02:58 pm
Still reasonably new to window cleaning, and only have enough customers to fill around a day a week.I've had one or two customers mention that they'd like drives/patio cleaned which made me toy with the idea of getting a half decent pressure washer. In peoples experience,is there money in this as a sideline or would I be best just concentrate all out on the window cleaning? It would be nice to add another string to my bow,I'm thinking. To that end would this one be reasonable to get me started:

Make sure you get insurance to do it properly if you do!

Many here are probably uninsured for it. Why i no longer offer it, the insurance was too costly.

Your better off adding Gutter/Fascia cleaning via wfp or Conservatory Roof cleaning.

Try to get internal window cleaning too.

To avoid the cost of buying a complete set up, get one from a hire centre. Your first job will more than pay for the week's hire and you'll see if you like it or not.

That's what i did and I'm really glad that I did. Pressure washing really wasn't for me. I just handed back the machine at the end of the week and had no more to do with it.

But you still offer it on your website??

Yeah hiring one seems a good idea.Just trying to think of more ways to bring in some extra dosh.If the rate I'm gaining window cleaning customers continues it will be at least a couple of years before I can rely on that for any meaningful money. Not that I expected an easy ride.
