Whats the story with using vinegar in your solution for windows. I was using it regular until someone told me that it will rot the rubbers on the windows. I find this a small bit hard to believe but seeing it is an acid it may be true.
I was using straight water with vinegar and it gave a brilliant shine that really stood out from the unwashed houses and that got me loads of work.
Cheating a small bit, I always used brown vinegar so when the water is being squeegeed off, the run off looks very dirty as if the windows were filthy and you are leaving the glass spotless and gleaming.
I still use the vinegar with a bit of wash up liquid for the glide of the squeegee but am abit worried of my costumers window's all falling out in five years and having to give back the billions i have made from my malt secret solution.
Any advice ?
Also while on the topic
What would you use for an initial clean for cement on glass and frames.
I am using this acid based solution that i purchased from a local supplier even though i have had no problems yet and used it at home before i took it out with me i am still a bit dubious about it as it does not specificaly say any thing about glass on it . Haven't got the brand name with me now so cant tell it.
Any enlightenment appreciated
Thanks

I tried vinegar in with the water and it did bring the windows up sparkling but I couldn't stand the smell. :-[
As for the acid stuff affecting glass ...... acid is usually stored in glass bottles so I would assume it's safe on windows. Don't know about the frames though.

Oh boy, the smell!!
I tried it for a week, felt like something out of the ark, smelt like it too.
If you need extra glide buy some alcohol from the chemist.
or.......
Why not splash out on some genuine window cleaning solution like Squeege Off.

Yup the windows looked good but couldnt stand the smell. No way could I go home having smelt all day like a chip shop.

I was always thinking that somebody with bad eye sight would ask me for a bag of chips
