I cleaned a rug 5 weeks ago .I was man made fibres .As I was cleaning it pink blotches appeared I bought this to the customers mothers attention ( as customer was at work ).I thought it was all part of the compositon of the fibres and when dry would dissapear as it was not noticeable until wet . They rang me up yesterday saying that the blotches have got worse and what was i going to do about it . Have any of you guys ever had this problem , if so how did you sort it ?

Was it wool, patterned or anything? How did you clean it?

Have had this problem when customers have tried cleaning with VANISH

Agree

Sounds like a reaction with the wool and the cleaning solution, maybe also if it was dried in sunlight ???
What is the backing of the rug like any pink reaction there ???
-
Cleaned with supreme shampoo brushed in and extarcted with fabric safe . No problem with the backing .Never had this problem in 10 years of cc'ing

Is that ashby's
I have cleaned delicate rugs in the past with that no problem. I think it's ph neutral. It will be something she has used.

acid sensitive, try sodium bicarb.

if its rinsed enough when suspending the dirt anything the client has used should be flushed out.
you some times see the old cleaning product being flushed out
or I do unless im doing it wrong

Thanks for all your replies guys .Not top end Len but the son of a regular customer .Might well be a reaction with a chemical that they have used at some point but they never admit to that do they .
