Title: Will I get it down to 000
Post by: Fieldsy on May 30, 2009, 10:09:24 am
Just got my very first tds meter.........(well its a start..lol). Measured our water supply and its 368. I intend getting an ro unit with a DI. Given that it will probs be a 200gpd with a small DI UNIT (700ml), would you advise getting a 2nd or even a third DI to get my water to 000 given that its presently 368. I've seen a 2100ml DI combination unit. Am I right in thinking this would polish the water successfully and save my resin?? or would one unit be enough??

thanks

It depends on your water pressure too. If your pressure is high, the RO will work a lot better,.. low pressure (like mine) and the TDS after the RO still won't be that low.
The little DI will do, but you may need to change resin every day or 2 if the pressure is real bad.

Pressure is low in my area, so looking at getting a pumped system with ro unit and DI. So basically I'm trying to cover all bases...lol

the pressure isn't great either in my area around 30-35 psi last time i checked it ,but i use a pure freedom booster pump.
